Nella mia convulsa giornata di sabato 15 gennaio alla LFW edione AW14, correndo tra presentazioni e una visita velocissima ai Designers Showoom a Somerset House, mi sono imbattuto, nel corridoio della South Wing, nella mini-mostra 'Out of Step' a cura della RCA, il Royal College of Art, che mette in mostra alcune delle calzature di avanguardia create dai suoi studenti a partire dal 2002. Una gemma, un'oasi di pura creativita' nel mare magnum degli stand della LFW.
Un altro esempio in cui arte e moda si mescolano, legato ad una ricerca approfondita ed un giocare con il labilisismo confine che c'e' tra forma e funzione. Calzature concettuali quindi che vanno dall'uso di materiali inusuali a forme scultoree fino ad arrivare al limite della forma astratta che una scarpa puo' avere.

In my convulsive day of Saturday the 25th of January at the LFW AW'14 edition, running between presentations and a very quick visit to the Designers Showrooms in Somerset House, I stumbled upon, in the South Wing corridor, in the mini-exhibtion 'Out Of Step' curated by the RCA, the Royal College of Art, that was showing some of the avant-garde footwear creations made by its students from 2002. A gem, an oasis of pure creativity in the mare magnum of the LFW stands.
Another example in which art and fashion mix together, linked to a through research and a play on the changeable line between form and function. Conceptual footwear then, that ranges from the use of unusual materials and sculptural shapes to the extreme abstraction.
