Brighton Fashion Week 2013 - Showreel Show

Pictures: courtesy of Gareth Gregg @ http://www.SunshineLensPhotography.com

Saturday the 15th I had, once again, the privilege of sitting in the audience and be part of BFW. I did attend only the Showreel Show as I had just come back from a 2 week break in my hometown, Rome ;-)
Glad, though to be able to catch a bit of action as the whole experience, from the location to the show and the individual collections weres AMAZING!

For the the first time the show was at St. Bartholomew Church, bang in the heart of Brighton and well...a breathtaking place. I'm not easily impressed, especially by churches, as I'm spoilt for choice in Rome.

Here a selection the designers and the collections that I really, really appreciated and enjoyed!

SARINA POPPY - Diamonds and Champagne
'20 inspired collection of dresses and outfits for bride and groom.
The whole presentation was beautifully choreographed and performed. That added to the elegance and fun of the garments really made the whole experience e feats for the eyes.

CURVE COUTURE - Countryphile.
A sexy, SM, equestrian mood inspired Chrissie Nicholson-Wild collection. I had the chance to meet her and see her corset creation last year at the Brighton Boutique Fashion Charity Show and have been following her since. This time she developed her beautifully crafted corsets in whole garments and even presented two pieces for men to wear. Amazing!

JYLLE NAVARRO - Alien Invasion
The 'enfant terrible' of BFW strikes again and lands on the catwalk with her army of knitwear clad aliens.
Don't be distracted by the pumping music and the wobbly moving models but concentrate on the high quality of the colours, textures and designs before your eyes and just enjoy the ride.

Louise doesn't really need an introduction on this blog as I've been regularly posting about her and her work, as well as using her garments for my styling work. You now know her bridal collection, her signature '50 style looks, about her but this time she surprised everybody with a new direction. The title of the collection' Nova' was already a clue that something was going to change. What we saw on the catwalk were feminine Barbie-like/mermaids in bright and sparkling evening looks carefully designed and delivered with the flair that is Louise trademark.
