After the theatrical presentations of the Frocks Show on Day 1 at the Brighton Fashion Week, the All Saints Church in Hove was once again the perfect location for the Zeitgeist Show. As the name suggests - spirit of time/age - the 12 collection showed the several facets of the contemporary fashion scene and the world we live in now. There were young/just graduated fashion designers, established ones that present collections every season, menwear designers and designers that don't follow seasons or trends who through the concept of their collections make a statement about our times.

Dopo le presentazioni ad alto tasso teatrale del Frocks Show del Giono 1 della Brighton Fashion Week, la chiesa di All Saints ad Hove e' stata nuovamente la location perfetta per il Zeitgeist Show. Come indica il nome - lo spirito del tempo - le 12 collezione hanno mostrato le molteplici sfaccettature della fashion scene contemporanea e del mondo in cui viviamo. C'erano nuovi stilisti appena laureati, stilisti piu' navigati che presentano collezioni ad ogni stagione, stilisti di menwear ed altri ancora che non seguono trend e stagioni che attraverso i concetti delle loro collezioni danno una loro interpretazione dei nostri tempi.

REFLECTIONS
The collection, in collaboration with Matthias Fürst,explores a scenario where Inuits, Europeans and
African tribes live in a peaceful community and tries to reconstruct
its appearance .
La collezione, in collaborazione con Matthias Fürst, esplora lo scenario in cui tribu' di Inuit, Europei ed Africani vivono in una comunita' pacifica e cerca di ricostruire come apparirrebbe.
The collection title says it all. It's the (in)famous Marie Antoinette quotation and it can be read as a conemporary sneer at the financial crisis (?) and at the same time shed a positive light on such a naive and femminine charatcter.
Il titolo della collezione dice tutto. E' la celeberrima frase di Maria Antonietta e la possiamo leggere come una critica alla crisi finanziaria (?) ed allo stesso tempo gettare una luce postivia su un personaggio ingenuo e femminile.

A body aware collection with fluid shapes that conjure up images of a woman half ninja warrior and half boxer.
Una collezione al cui centro ce' la percezione del corpo, con forme fluide che creano un'immagine di donna a meta' tra guerriera ninja e boxer.
MENSWEAR
An LFC graduate that presented his graduate collection in a eclecticand creative place such as Brighton where I can visualise already men wearing those digitally printed, well tailored suits or, even better, those graphic 3D hats. I really like the tops and the shorts even though, to be honest ,the models modelling them did't really have the bosdies/legs to make thos garments justice.
Laureato al LFC ha presentato la sua collezione di laurea in un luogo eclettico e creativo come Brighton in cui gia' vedo uomini indossare i suoi completi sartoriali a stampa digitale o, ancora meglio, qui cappelli stamati in 3D. Mi sono piacitui molto anche gli shorst e le maglie anche se, ad essere onesto, i modelli che li indossavano non avevano gambe e fisici adatti per rendrgli giustizia.
ESTABLISHED DESIGNERS
I was really happy to see a collection that does follow the fashion cycle but above all to see her latest collection upclose, as Lesley De Freitas has been under my stylist radar for a while. Being ispired by nature it's quite common BUT she declines the them into femminine silhouettes and a colour palette that gave the impression of being into a pretty garden.
Sono stato molto contento di vedere una collezione che segue il ciclo della moda ma sopratutto di vedere la sua ultima collezione da vicino, visto che Lesley De Freitas era nel mio radar da stylist ormai da un po' di tempo. Ispirarsi alla natura e' abbastanza comune MA lei ha declinato il tema in silhouette femminili ed na gamma di colori che davano l'impressione di essere in un bel giardino.
Masato -AW12
If you need a comfortable, chich, cool and tailored outerwear, turn to Masato AW12 collection for it. I was particularly attracted to the excellent designs and cut of his damask coast and jackets as well as the elegant silhouettes of Masato just above -the-knee dresses in a palette of nutral colours.
Se siete alla ricerca di un capo spalla comodo, chic, eleante e sartoriale, guardate la collezione Masato AW12. Mi ha particolarmente attratto il taglio ed il design eccellente dei suoi cappotti e giacche nonche' gli eleanti abiti appena sopra al ginocchio in damascato in una palette di colori neutri.
