Here she is my beloved! As you may already know, Penelope is part of  my previous '70 inspired moodboard.

So '70 moodboard!

Here it is my first (on the blog) moodboard, in preparation for a '70 inspired photoshoot! For those who don't know know what moodboard means: a collage of pictures that relate to a theme, a mood or idea. It's usually the starting point for creatives to gather ideas and elements that, later on in the process, will be translated into defined visual elements ( clothes and accessories, in my case).

My theme is the '70 and I've put together in 3 separate groups prints, patterns, colours and lively, sexy and self-confident female characters. I've deliberately avoided fashion related pictures and clothes ( couldn't resist the earings, though) in order to keep my insipration 'pure'. Hope you enjoy it and can feel the '70 groove!

Ecco qui il mio primo moodboard per il blog. in preparazione ad un servizio fotografico ispirato agli anni '70. Per chi non sapesse cosa significa moodboard: un collage di immagini che si riferiscono ad un tema, un'idea o un mood ( umore), appunto. Di solito è il punto di partenza per i creativi per raccogliere idee ed elementi che poi più avanti nel processo verranno tradotti in elementi visivi concreti ( vestiti ed accessori, nel mio caso).

Il mio tema sono gli anni'70 e ho messo insieme in 3 insiemi stampe, motivi, colori e personaggi femminili allegri, sexy e sicuri di sè. Ho deliberatamente evitato immagini di moda e vestiti ( non ho resistito agli orecchini però), al fine di manenere la mia ispirazione 'pura'. Spero che vi piaccia  e riusciate a sentire il groove degli anni'70!

So '70! Preview.

Looking back at the S/S 2011 collections I can't help saying ''It's so '70!!'' . Seventies are coming (back) next season. Get ready!

What's you favourite S/S '11 Pantone colour?

At the moment I'm working on a '70 inspired moodboard and in my researches I stumbled upon (of course) Pantone S/S '11 colours.
My favourite three are: Honeysucle, Regatta and Silver Peony. ( I like Beeswax too, but a I opt for a neutral as a third favourite).
Tell me.Which ones are yours??

Style (gurus) on Youtube! OOTD? What do you think?

I know, the word guru is an  exaggeration, but in few lines you'll find out what it refers to, and OOTD as well. 

Facts first. As well as reading (yes, I actually read, not just skim though them) fashion blogs, I started following a Vlog ( Video-blog) a couple of weeks ago, by chance and later out of curiosity.

Its autor is Anna Saccone, an Irish girl in her early twenties, who gives tips on style, styling (OOTD stands for Outfit Of The Day) and make up. She's got around 41,000 subscribers on her channel (TheStyleDiet) and she does posts almost daily.
But I found out that she's only the top of the iceberg. In fact on the site Guru Gossip http://gurugossip.omgforum.net/ there are tens of Youtube style and mak-up characters and on the site forum you can ''Trash, hash or rave about YouTube gurus and personalities''.

I'm still forming an opinion (I have!-read the update at the end of the post) on Anna and the Youtube guru phenomenon in general and I would like to hear your impressions and views about it. To do that I'm posting the link to her Youtube channel and blog, as well as a sample video of style and make up.

Lo so, la parola guru è un'esagerazione, ma tra qualche riga scoprirete a che si riferisce e anche OOTD.

Prima i fatti. Oltre che leggere ( si, leggo e non do' solo un'occhiata superficiale) i vari blog di moda, ho cominciato a seguire un Vlog ( Video blog) un paio di settimane fa, per caso e poi per curiosità.

La sua creatice si è Anna Saccone, una ventenne ragazza irlandese, che dà consigli di stile, styling ( OOTD=Outfit Of The Day/ Outfit del giorno) e di trucco. Ha circa 41.000 iscritti sul suo canale Youtube (TheStyleDiet) e posta video quasi tutti i giorni.

Ma ho scoperto che lei è solo la punta dell'iceberg. Infatti sul sito Guru Gossip http://gurugossip.omgforum.net/  ci sono decine di personaggi di Youtube che hanno video di stile e trucco e sul sito si puo' ''dire stupidaggini, parlare male o andare in estasi per i guru e le personalità di Youtube''.

Non ho ancora un'opinione precisa ( ora ce l'ho! leggete la'ggiornamento alla fine del post) su Anna ed il fenomeno guru di Youtube e mi piacerebbe sapere le vostre impressioni ed opinioni. Ho postato quindi anche i link del canale Youtube di Anna, del suo blog e due video, come esempio di OOTD e trucco.

I've written the post nearly 2 weeks ago and in the meantime, stull following her Youtube videos, I did form an opinion about Anna ;-) It was her in person ( well, through Twitter) that asked me about it!! In fact we now are following each other's twits, she read the artcicle and joking, asked me if I was still forming an opinion or if I loved her vlog and blog as I twittered ;-)  Well...I do!

Ho scritto questo post quasi due settimane fa e nel frattempo, continuando a seguire i suoi video su Youtube,  mi sono fatto un'opinione su Anna ;-) E' stata proprio lei in persona ( beh, tramite Twitter) che me l'ha chiesto!! Infatti ora seguiamo i nostri twit a vicenda, ha letto il mio post e scherzosamente mi ha chiesto se ancora mi stavo formando un'opinione o se mi piaceva il suo vlog e blog come le avevo twittato ;-) Beh...mi piace!

Vogue and H&M Barcelona style pursuits_Part III

Last and the best (I think) post about my Barcelona pursuits. Due to the heavy hand luggage airline restriction I couldn't really shop in Barcelona as much as I would have. So I used my stylist 'editing' skills to get few items that were both significant and useful.

L'ultimo ed il migliore post  (secondo me) su  cio' che mi ha ispirato e colpito a Barcellona. A causa delle rigidissime restrizioni sul bagaglio a mano, non ho potuto fare shopping quanto avrei voluto. Così ho attivato la modalità 'editing' da stylist per comprare pochi oggetti significativi ed utili.

1. Vogue Spain and Vogue Uk January issues (they fitted in my trolley!).

1. Edizione spagnola ed inglese di Vogue di gennaio ( entravano nel trolley!).

The Spanish edition came with a cute faux cocco skin 2011 pocket diary. Karolina Kurkova is on the cover and main editorial shoot. Really good fashion and lifestyle content _ F/W 2010 pieces you can use for S/S 2011 and an interview to Italian writer and journalist Roberto Saviano.

Uk edition has a stunning Keira Knightley in Dolce&Gabbana on the cover and in the main editorial shoot + Karlie Kloss featuring some amazing  leggy trousers looks. MAJOR!!

L'edizione spagnola dà in omaggio un'agendina 2011 in finto coccodrillo. Karolina Kurkova in copertina e nello shooting centrale. Contenuti editoriali di alto livello , sia di moda che di attualità _ abbigliamento A/I 2010 che puo' essere riadattato anche per la P/E 2011 ed un'intervista a Roberto Saviano.

L'edizione inglese ha una splendida Keira Knightley in Dolce&Gabbana in copertina e nel servizio centrale + Karlie Kloss che veste dei look caratterizzati da meravigliosi pantaloni allunga-gamba (leggy). DA PAURA!!

Dan in the den! Barcelona style and lifestyle pusuits_ PART II

Walking around Park Guell I wasn't really impressed by almost any of the Gaudì flamboyant, curvy structures BUT I loved the simple combination of  Doric columns and the silvery, shiny, mosaicked ceiling, on top of the stairs at the entrance. For the same reason I was attracted by rough beauty of the stone archways along the hillside.

I couldn't resist therefore posing in such stricking settings as I instantly felt 'at home': Dan in the den!! ( Wish there were clothes, and it would have been a real stylist den/heaven).

I was also drawn to some amazing tiles pattern and colour combinations.

Camminando per il Parco Guell non sono stato impressionato da quasi nessuna delle teatrali e curvilinee strutture di Gaudì MA ho adorato la semplice combinazione tra colonne Doriche e lo scintillante, argenteo soffitto a mosaico, in cima alle scale d'ingresso. Per la stessa ragione mi ha attratto la bellezza grezza delle arcate di pietra sul pendio della collina.
Non ho resistito a non mettermi in posa in una location cosi' meravigliosa. Mi sono sentito subito 'a casa': Dan in the den!! ( gioco di parole Dan/den; Dan nell'antro).  Se ci fossero stati anche dei vestiti sarebbe veramente stato perfetto, un vero antro delle meraviglie per unostylist _ come il mio blog TheStylistDen.

Mi hanno anche attratto alcune combinazioni di forme e colori delle mattonelle che ornavano le panche.

Spero che vi sia stata gradita il mio personale resoconto del Parco Guell. Commenti sempre benvenuti
