London Fashion Week Mens Aw 18. River Island Design Forum x Blood Brother

In attesa che si completino le sfilate e le presentazioni della LFWM AW18, di darvi un resoconto e delle impressioni personali, posso mostrarvi tutta la collezione SS18 'see now, buy now' di River Island Design Forum in collaborazione con il brand Blood Brother, presentata ieri sera e disponibile on line e nei negozi. 

La forza di questa collaborazione, con il brand, fondato nel 2012 da Nicolas Biela e James Waller, sta nell'assoluta liberta' creativa lasciata ai designer, caratteristica di come River Island si approccia da sempre al Design Forum. I riusltati, anche in questo caso, sono sempre eccellenti, con capsule collection che non deviano dall'estetica dei marchi ma accessibili a quei clienti che pur attenti ai nuovi trend, non possono permettersi capi firmati.

La collezione consiste di 11 elementi, tra capi di abbigliamento, accessori e calzature con prezzi che spaziano dai €20 ai €200. Il design e' comodo e funzionale, l'estetica contemporanea e street, fondendo slogan, immagini rubate da telecamere a circuito chiuso e una palette che contrasta il nero con l'arancione bagliori metallici. I miei capi preferiti sono il combo denim - giacca e jeans -, la felpa arancione e il piumino grigio a stampa camouflage.

SS 15 Trend File. Back To The '70. Shop&Style It.

After last post about prints, patterns and colours of the '70 trend for the SS15 season, here's a quick and easy shopping and styling guide about it. In terms of shopping I've selected three high-street brands - ASOS, River island and H&M - so that you can either shop online or just pop instore and have a browse. Styling wise I have to say that the '70 is one of the easiest trends to style as the colour palette is quirky and fun and you are free to go over the top with it or keep it simple. my only advice is not to be afraid of colour and patterns and to try things on even if they look crazy on the hanger. The shapes, large and comfy,  are flattering on any bodyshape; the palazzo pants paired with wedges do elongate the figure and the culotte and swing dresses can be styled up or down according to your necessities. here's my picks. Dopo lo scorso post sulle stampe, le fantasie e i colori del trend anni '70 della prossima stagione SS15, ecco una semplice e veloce guida allo shopping e allo styling di questo trend. Per quanto riguarda lo shopping ho scelto tre brand high-street - ASOS, River Island e H&M - in modo che possiate fare shopping online o fare un salto in negozio per darci un'occhiata. Devo dire che ' lo styling di questo trend e semplicissimo poiche' la palette di colori e divertente e originale e siete libere sia di esagerare che di andarci leggere; il mio unico consiglio e' quello di non avere timore di provare colori e fantasie che sulla stampella sembrano da pazzi. Le silhouette infatti , larghe e comode, si addicono ad ogni conformazione fisica; i pantaloni a palazzo se abbinato con un  sandalo wedge allungano la figura e sia le culotte che gli abiti a linea ad A possono nascondono le imperfezioni e possono essere indossati per outfit casual o piu' formal a secondo delle vostre esigenze.Ecco le mie scelte. #RIxJamesLong Design Forum. Fashion Film and Collection Preview

Every season River Island teams up with an up-and-coming designer for its Design Forum project. The results are always excellent and the names that they pick up quite exciting. For the SS15 season James Long is the chosen one for a menswear capsule collection available from Febraury the 25. Since my newly discovered passion for meanswear, James Long had been on my fashion/style radar for a while and I included him in last my round up post about the 10 best look at the #LCM.

This season for the first time he was one of the NEWGEN receipients, meaning that he was given the means and the money to stage a fully fledged fashion show, plus he was awardared the Fashion Forward Award. Long is well know for his use and mix of prints, denim and leather and his sport-luxe signature looks.

Quite excited so to be able to afford to buy and wear at least one (if not more) pieces from the #RIxJamesLong collaboration and while we wait, here's the fashion film that showcases the 10 pieces collection, some sketches and pictures of it and the James Long SS15 best looks.

Ogni stagione River Island collabora con un designer emergente con il progetto Design Forum. I risultati sono sempre eccellente e i nomi selezionati interessanti. per la stagione SS15 il prescelto e' James Long per la collezione uomo disponibile online e nei negozi dal 25 febbraio. Da quando ho ri-scoperto la mia passione per il menswear, James Long e' sempre stato sotto il mio radar fashion per un bel po' e l'ho anche incluso nel post che ricapitola i migliori 10 look della #LCM appena conclusa.

Questa stagione il designer e' stato incluso per la prima volta tra i brand sponsorizzati da NEWGEN, che fornisce i mezzi e gli strumenti finanziari per sfilare a Londra; inoltre quest'anno James Long ha anche vinto il premio Fashion Forward ed e' ormai conosciuto per il suo mix di denim, stampe e pelle oltre che per i suoi look sport-luxe.

Non sto nella pelle al pensiero di potermi permettere e indossare alemno un capo (se non di piu') della collaborazione #RIxJamesLong e nell'attesa eccovi il fashion film che la presenta, alcuni bozzetti e foto, oltre a i milgiori look della sua collezione SS15.

Back To School. Back To Work. For Her and For Him. #BTS #BTW

E' di nuovo quel momento dell'anno, settembre, ''il Gennaio della Moda'', mese in cui finite le vacanze ritorniamo alla nostra routine a lavoro, all'Universita' ed in famiglia. Da ragazzini, settembre significava cartella e quaderni nuovi, da grandi significa rinnovare il guardaroba secondo i trend FW14 e ricominciare a pensare in termini di layering e di capotti, sciarpa, guanti e cappello. Poi diciamocelo, fare shopping per il nuovo anno lavorativo e di studi allevia, e non di poco, il peso del tran-tran quotidiano. 

Borse, scarpe e la classica camicia bianca sono i tre capisaldi della mia shopping list 'back to schook/work'.

It's that time of the year again, September, ''the January of Fashion'', that month when the holidays are over and we all go back to our routine at work, at Uni and in our families. As kids, September menat a new school bag a new notebooks, as adults instead we refresh the wardrobe with the new FW14 trends and we start to think again about layering, coats, scarves, gloves and hats. Last but not least, let's be honest, do some shopping for the new year lightens up the burden of the daily grind.

Bags, shoes and the evergreen white shirt are the three staples of my back to school/work shopping list.

The Wheel Of Fashion: Choose Sandals, #SayNoToFlipFlops.

The sun is out and so are the maleficent flip flops on both men's and women's feet! If you're not at the beach or at the swimming pool flop flops are a HUGE no no as they are lazy-wear. I do not like in fact the shabby look of the thin sole, cheap, plastic flip flop on both sexes feet and luckily I'm not the only impressionable soul that thinks that: there are few of my colleagues at work that share my view and in the past few days I read two blogs that tackle this very same issue ( here and here).

There are PLENTY of options of sandals for ladies out there and some for men too, even if I have to say that the choice for us is limited to gladiator-woven-Francescan monk-like shoes; but those are better than a lousy pair of flip flops! Choose Sandals, Say No to Flip Flops!

Il sole e' finalmente uscito e' cosi anche le malefiche infradito sui piedi di uomini e donne! Se non siamo al mare o in piscina, le infradito sono un ENORME no no visto che sono abbigliamento da pigri. Infatti non sopporto l'aspetto trasandato che le infradito dalla sottile suola di plastica da quattro soldi danno a tutti e dui i sessi e fortunatamente sono sono l'unica anima impressionabile che pensa cio': ci sono anche alcuni miei colleghi di lavoro e negli ultimi gironi ho letto due blog che trattano di questo problema ( qui e qui).

Ci sono DECINE di modelli si sandali da donna ed alcuni anche per uomini, anche se devo ammettere che la scelta per noi uomini e' limitata a calzture da gladiatore-monaco Francescano-hippie; sempre meglio comunque di un paio di infradito da 'scappato di casa'! Scegli dei Sandali, Di' No alle Infradito!

River Island Mini Kids. Cute,Stylish and Affordable.

Not only fashion and style for ladies and gents. For the first time I'm covering babywear. I personally have experience of buying clothes for babies and toddlers as my sister has an 18 months, one of my best friends in Rome has a 4 y/o daughter and a  7 months old boy, plus friends I visited last week end in Bath have a 6 months old daughter.

The tricky bit but when buying clothes for kids is the balance between functionality and style. You don't want the clothes to be either functional but basic or boring or really cute but uncomfortable.

Just yesterday River Island launched its Mini Kids range - 0-3 year- and I have first hand experience of the range as it is stocked in my store in Eastbourne. The Mini Kids range reflects the style and trends in the River Island main collection plus the bonus of all the items being child-friendly - machine washable, one price point for all ages. The quality is great and the prices - from £6 to £20 - are unbeatable. I've a list of the things that I'm going to buy for all the babies and toddlers I know.

Non solo moda e stile per lei e per lui. per la prima volta mi occupo di abbigliamento baby. Ho ormai nuna certa esperienza nel comprare vestiti per neonati e bambini visto che mia sorella ha un maschietto di 18 mesi, una delle mie migliori amiche a Roma ha una bimba di 4 anni ed un pupo di 7 mesi e lo scorso week end sono stato a bath a trovare una coppia di amici con una bimba di 6 mesi.

La difficolta' nel comprare abbigliamento baby sta nell'equilibrio tra praticita' e stile. Non e' ideal comprare abiti funzionali ma troppo basic e noiosi ma neanche stilosissimi ma scomodi.

Proprio ieri River Island ha lanciato la sua linea Mini Kids - dai 0 ai 3 anni - e ne ho esperienza diretta visto che e' disponibile nel negozio di Eastbourne in cui lavoro. La linea Mini Kids riflette lo stile ed i trend delle sue linee pricipali con il bonus che tutti i capi sono child-friendly - lavabili in lavatrice e con un unico prezzo per tutte le eta'. La qualita' e ottima ed i prezzi - dai £6 ai £20 - imbattibili. Ho gia' una lista di capi che comprero' per tutti i pupi e le pupe che conosco.

River Island Design Forum SS14. Katie Eary, Joseph Turvey.

Dopo l'esperienza, durata per 2 stagioni con Rihanna, River Island, marchio High Street anglosassone, si rimette in pista con il suo annuale Design Forum, con ben due capsule collections: Katie Eary, per la donna e Jospeh Turvey per l'uomo. Seguo molto da vicino tutto cio' che RI fa come brand, lavorando per loro, e queste due collezioni, che hanno debuttato la scorsa settimana in contemporane a con la LFW sono, a mio parere, le migliori fatte fin'ora, per la mettibilita' dei capi e la loro versatilita'.

After the experience, that lasted for 2 seasons, with Rihanna, River Island, the British high street label, comes back with its annual Designer Forum with two capsule collections: Katie Eary for womenswear and Jospeh Turvey for menswear. i follow really closely what RI does as a brand, as I work for them, and these two collections, presented last week during LFW, are, in my opinion, the best so far, both for their wearability and their versatility.

Katie Eary ha creato una collezione di 18 pezzi che va da abiti lunghi, a maxi gonne, top, scarpe e costumi da bagno caratterizzati da stampe coloratissime, vivacissime e da stampa animalier massimalista; uno stile che ricorda Cavalli, ma con un twist e d una freschezza tutta britannica. Costumi da bagno e maxi dress sono i pezzi migliori, senza dubbio, capi adatti per stare in spiaggia ed essere 'fashion' o per uscire la sera per un drink. Il resto della collezione funziona se abbinato a capi piu' sobri ed accessori semplici visto che le stampe sono abbastanza impegnative.

Katie Eary created a 18 pieces collection that ranges from maxi dresses and skirts to tops, shoes and swimwear in really colourful, lively and blown out animalier prints; a style that reminds me of Cavalli but with a British twist and coolness. Swimwear and maxi dresses are the best pieces, with no doubt, great to go to the beach and be 'fashion' or to go out in the evening for drinks. The other items do work if styled with simple and sober accessories and garments as the prints are quite bold.

Joseph Turvey per l'uomo ha creato una collezione di 15 pezzi che sara' un successone. Il motivo? Un equilibrio perfetto tra stampe, sobrieta' e comodita'. La collezione e' caratterizzata da un camouflage rosa pallido mescolato a verde e nero su felpe, maglie, t-shirt ( che ho appena ordinato!!), bomber, parka , scarpe e borse su base grigio-bianco-ecru'. Uno stile street ma super-luxe, comodo ma non trasandato, ricercato ma non super trendy.

Jopesh Turvey for menswear created a 15 pieces collection that i feel is going to be a great success. The reason why? A perfect balance between prints, simplicity and comfort. The collection is characterised by the pink camouflage mixed with green and black on sweatshirts, knits, t-shirts ( that I have just ordered online!!), bomber, parka jackets, shoes and bags on a grey-black-ecru' base. A street style but super luxe, comfortable but not shabby, refined but not too trendy.
