AltaRomaAltaModa 7-11 Luglio 2011

In less than a week Rome will be, once again, the one and only stage to showcase the Italian Alta Moda ( Haute Couture) designers and artisans. Most of the events are organised and managed by AltaRomaAltaModa group, whose President is Silvia Venturini Fendi.

Tra meno di una settimana Roma sarà, di nuovo, il palcoscenico, unico e solo, dell'AltaModa italiana. La maggior parte degli eventi sono organizzati e gestiti dal gruppo AltaRomaAltaModa, presiedo da Silvia Venturini Fendi

As the opening day is getting closer invitations are slowly making their way to my e-mail  8-)

So far the only official event I have access to is Vogue's Who is on Next show. I managed, by chance and by being quick, to get a place through http://www.vogue.it/ .

Per ora l'unico evento ufficiale a cui ho accesso è la sfilata Who is on Next di Vogue. Sono riuscito, per caso e per la mia velocità, ad accaparrarmi un posto attraverso www.vogue.it

The other event in the calendar I'll be going to is the Accademia del Lusso one 'Fashion Tells History'  . An afternoon packed with a seminar, workshops, photoshoot and a final fashion show to celebrate the 150th year of Italy's Unification.

I've been asked by one of their Facebook profile administrators to take pictures during the day and backstage as well ;-) I've asked formal permission to access all the areas. So..finger crossed!

L'altro evento in calendario a cui andro' è 'La Moda Racconta la Storia' dell' Accademia del Lusso. Un pomeriggio all'insegna di seminari, workshops, servizi fotografici ed una sfilata finale per celebrare i 150 anni dell'Unità d'Italia. Mi è stato chiesto da uno degli amministratori della loro pagina Facebook di fare foto dell'evento ed anche dietro le quinte ;-) Ho chiesto un permesso formale per avere accesso a tutte le aree. Quindi...incrociamo le dita!

This year it'll be really hard to get invitation to the fashions shows as I'm officially out of the fashion school I attended last season. Nevertheless I'm going to quite a few events that are free, to some that are off the official calendar ( but I'll tell you about those in another post) and I'll be e-mailing like a pest to get invitations for the ones I want to go to.

Last but not least, I have to start thinking about what to wear 8-)

Quest'anno sarà veramente dura ottenere degli inviti per le sfilate in quanto ufficialmente sono uscito dalla scuola di moda che ho frequentato la scorsa stagione. Nonostante cio' andro' agli eventi ad ingresso libero, ad alcuni che sono furoi dal calnedario ufficiale ( ma vi diro' di questi in un altro post) e mandero' e-mail a raffica per ottenere gli inviti delle sfilate che voglio vedere.

Duclis in fundo, devo iniziare a pensare a cosa indossare 8-)

Hi there.

Havent' been blogging for a while but for a reason.

And that is 'So Vain Magazine', a blog turned on line magazine of my Facebook friend Stepahie Reed.

She asked me to write for the magazine but , as I dont' REALLY like writing, it turned out that I have a weekly column called 'Dan Styling Tips' about the nature of fashion styling.

The column, for the time being, it's planned to last just for few week. Every Friday I'll explain the major aspects of styling, for those in the know and those who would like to know.

E' da un po' che non aggiorno il blog ma per un motivo valido.

Si chiama 'So Vain Magazine', un blog trasformato in magazne online della mia Facebook.amica Stephanie Reed. Mi ha chiesto di scrivere per il magazine ma, poichè non mi piace moto farlo, la collaborazione si è trasformata in una rubrica chiamata 'Dan Stylin Tips' sulla natura del fashion styling.

La rubrica, per ora, durera solo alcune settimane. Ogni venerdi'raccontero' uno degli aspetti importanti dello styling, sia per gli addetti ai lavori che per chi ne vuole sapere qualcosa in piu'.

That's a really long maantilla but...it does work, MY GOD!!!

This Christina Ricci pic is in the lastest issue of Visionare - the Religion issue, and it's amazing. Riccardo Tisci was guest editor and the choice not to focus on fashion has been...EXCELLENT!

Sometimes being fashionable glamourous and chic doesnt mean wering designer clothes but create a mood.

Questa si che è una mantilla veramente lunga ma...funziona...MIO DIO!

Questa foto di Christina Ricci è nell'ultimo numero di Visionaire - il numero Religion, ed è eccezionale. Riccardo Tisci è stato il guest editor e la scelta di non concentrarsi sulla moda è stata ...OTTIMA!

A volte per essere alla moda, glamour e chic non significa indossare gli abiti degli stilisti ma creare un 'mood', ovvero un'atmosfera.

Talking about mantillas I istantly though about ADR, Anna Dello Russo, who , not long ago did a shooting for EL PAIS, wearing mantillas, but with a really different mood ;-)

Parlando di mantilla mi è venuta subito in mente ADR, Anna Dello Russo, che non molto tempo fa ha posato per con tanto di mantilla per EL PAIS, ma con un mood decisamente divrso da Visionare ;-)

FASHION FIGHING!!!

CK One and Burberry:pParfume galore!

Hi there! You know by now my obsession with Bang by Marc Jacobs and that's top of the list of the ones tha I own.I think I've found the sthe one that ranked the second place.

Let me quickly tell you what happened today. It's the end of the school time here in Italy , and it is custom to give 'thank you' gifts to teachers ;-) So I was given, by years 2 and then from year 5, two parfumes!!

Burberry!!! My third favorite brand of all times! (Prada and Marc Jacobs first!)...So happy!!

Ciao! Come sapete sono fissato con il profumo Bang di Marc Jacobs e lui è in cima alla lista di quelli che possiedo. penso di aver trovato anche quello che si classifica al secondo posto.

Fatemi brevemente spiegare cosa mi è successo oggi. Qui in Italia è la fine delle scuole, ed è consuetudine fare dei regali di 'ringraziamaneto' ai maestri ;-) quindi mi hanno regalato, la classe seconda e la quinta, due profumi!!

Fur&the city. Fendi&SouthKorea

Finally it happend.

On June the 2nd Fendi did its fashion show on the artificial island in the river Han, in Soth Korea.

But the show, way before it happened, faced the opposition of animal protesters and the goverment that didnt want Fendi to showcase fur on the runway.

They then agreed to show less pieces than planned and in a smart move I read that they did ot show any, even though from the video I can see some.

I'm personally against real fur, even though I have not a strong love for animals, but I believe that we no longer need real animal skin to cover ourselves and that real fur as a status is REALLY old fashioned.

Finalmente c'è stata.

Il 2 giugno Fendi ha sfilato sull'isola artificialenel fiume Han, in Corea del Sud.

Ma lo show, molto prima che ci fosse, ha afforntato l'oposizione dgli animalisti e del governo che non volevano che Fendi facesse sfilare capi in pelliccia.

Fendi si è messa d'accordo di mostrare meno capi in pelliccia di quanti ne erano stati programmati e con mossa abile, ho letto che non ne ha sfilato alcuno, anche se dal video ne ho visti alcuni.

Personalmente sono contro la pelliccia vera, anche se non amo particolarmente gli animali, ma ritengo che non abbiamo più bisogno di coprirci di pelliccia vera e che essa sia uno status symbol VERAMENTE datato.
