Waiting For AltaRoma Luglio 2014. Who Is On Next Pap Finalists.

Tra tre settimane AltaRoma si rimette in moto con l'edizione di luglio. Si sanno solo le date , dal 12 al 16, ma ancora  top secret il calendario, con i suoi designer e relative location. Sappiamo pero' chi sono i finalisti di Who Is On Next che sfileranno ed esibiranno in questa edizione, in cui sara' proclamato il vincitore. Il concorso in collaborazione con Vogue Italia comprende pret-a-porter e accessori. In questo post ci soffermiamo sui designer di pap, nel prossimo sugli accessori.

Non mi soffermo troppo sulle biografie dei singoli brand che vi potete leggere con calma nei link sottostanti, ma il mio focus vuole essere sul mood o meglio sulle prime impressioni che vedere le collezioni FW14 di questi finalisti danno.

Io ho i miei due preferiti ma le carte in tavola possono cambiare durante il concorso e tutto dipende dalle colleizoni che i finalisti manderanno in passerella. Un in bocca al lupo a tutti dunque!

#WorldCupFashion: The Brasilian Brands To Know.

Here's another #WorldCupFashion post, after the one on J-Lo outfit at the opening ceremony. Can you name at least 3 brands that show at San Paulo Fashion Week? I barely couldn't before doing some research for this post but now I can; it's quite easy: Osklen, Pedro Lourenco and Reinaldo Lourenco. To be fair I knew the first two brands already, bu name, and knew they were Brasilian but with the New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Week to follow, I have to admit that it's quite hard to follow what else goes on the catwalks of other countries.Anyway, here we are now, and I'll be keeping these brand under my fashion radar from now on!

Ecco un altro post #WorldCupFashion, dopo il primo sull'outfit di J-Lo alla cerimonia di apertura.  Chi e' in grado di nominare almeno 3 brand che sfilano alla San Polo Fashion Week? Io a malapena potevo, prima di fare ricereche per questo post, ma ora ne sono in grado: Osklen, Pedro Lourenco e Reinaldo Lourenco. Ad essere puntigliosi c'e' da dire che i primi due brand li conoscevo gia', di nome, e sapevo che fossero brasiliani ma con le Fashion Week di new York, Londra, Milano e Parigi da seguire non diventa possibile sapere cosa accade sulle passerelle del resto del mondo. Ma eccoci qui ora e terro' questi nomi nel mio fashion radar da oggi in poi.

#WorldCupFashion: J-Lo Wears Charbel Zoe at the Opening Ceremony.

Since I watched pictures and this morning the video of J-Lo performance at the World Cup opening ceremony, I was curious to know who designed her mega sparkly emerald green 'playsuit'. It's from a Lebanese designer, Charbel Zoe, who dresses J-Lo in the past for her appearance on American Idol back in May.

Charbel Zoe is a fairly new label that has only shown at the Miami Fashion Week  and the Dubai Fashion Forward in 2013 but he's getting a lot of recognition by getting his playsuits on J-Lo and his Haute Couture gowns on the Lebanese singer and actress Haifa Wehbe and other celebrities. His website is still under construction but he's quite active on his Facebook page and Twitter account and after the J-Lo/Rio boost I'm sure that Charbel Zoe will be in demand as never before.

Dal momento in cui ho visto le immagini e, stamattina, il video della performance di J-Lo alla cerimonia di apertura dei Mondiali di Calcio, sono statocurioso di sapere chi fosse lo stilista dello scintilantissimo 'playsuit verde smeraldo che indossava. E' del libanese Charbel Zoe, che l'ha vestita anche a maggio per l'esibizione ad American Idol.

Il brand Charbel Zoe e' abbastanza recente, avendo sfilato solo alla Miami Fashion Week e al Dubai Fashion Forward nel 2013 ma sta ottenendo molta visibilita' vestendo la J-Lo, la cantante attrice libanese Haifa Wehbe e altre celebrities con i suoi abiti di Alta Moda. Il sito del brand e' ancora in costruzione ma il designer e' molto attivo sulla sua pagina Facebook e su Twitter e dopo l'effetto J-Lo/Rio sara' ancora piu' richiesto di prima.

Non c'e' bisogno di indossare un quintale di gioielli e un copricapo di frutta ma 'mordete' il trend' con accessori e abbigliamento con stampa ananas. Roba da pazzi? Come precedente c'e' la T-shirt ananas di Chloe' by Stella McCartney di qualche anno fa; per la stagione S/S 14 la scelta e' ampia con abiti, top, gonne e short! Fate un pick 'n mix ed il trend e' servito.

The Wheel Of Fashion: Choose Sandals, #SayNoToFlipFlops.

The sun is out and so are the maleficent flip flops on both men's and women's feet! If you're not at the beach or at the swimming pool flop flops are a HUGE no no as they are lazy-wear. I do not like in fact the shabby look of the thin sole, cheap, plastic flip flop on both sexes feet and luckily I'm not the only impressionable soul that thinks that: there are few of my colleagues at work that share my view and in the past few days I read two blogs that tackle this very same issue ( here and here).

There are PLENTY of options of sandals for ladies out there and some for men too, even if I have to say that the choice for us is limited to gladiator-woven-Francescan monk-like shoes; but those are better than a lousy pair of flip flops! Choose Sandals, Say No to Flip Flops!

Il sole e' finalmente uscito e' cosi anche le malefiche infradito sui piedi di uomini e donne! Se non siamo al mare o in piscina, le infradito sono un ENORME no no visto che sono abbigliamento da pigri. Infatti non sopporto l'aspetto trasandato che le infradito dalla sottile suola di plastica da quattro soldi danno a tutti e dui i sessi e fortunatamente sono sono l'unica anima impressionabile che pensa cio': ci sono anche alcuni miei colleghi di lavoro e negli ultimi gironi ho letto due blog che trattano di questo problema ( qui e qui).

Ci sono DECINE di modelli si sandali da donna ed alcuni anche per uomini, anche se devo ammettere che la scelta per noi uomini e' limitata a calzture da gladiatore-monaco Francescano-hippie; sempre meglio comunque di un paio di infradito da 'scappato di casa'! Scegli dei Sandali, Di' No alle Infradito!
