Styling Tips! For Him/For Her Part 1

EN:
A St.Valentine post I though? Noooooooo was the answer. I personally don't quite feel it as a festivity so it didn't come natural to write a post about it with make up tips, styling tips or a gift guide. Not that I'm against that kind of posts that are around ( I did see a few: Anna Saccone and ClioMakeUp on Youtube) but it isn't in my stride ( and I've been in a relationship for 10 years). Anyway, post-Valentine one can be more useful as you can read it and use the styling tips every day,  it's for him and and her, not just for one half of the couple and it can be used also if you are single.

Here there are some styling tips abouth two basic/classic pieces - shirt/bluse and jeans - that both a stylish man and woman should have ( I feel like writing MUST have but don't want to sound to a fashion fascist) in their wardrobes. So there are quite neutral colours and basic shapes. For the time being no fancy prints, fabrics or silhouettes. There's time for that.

 C'e' tempo.

For him: Fitted shirt
For her: Blouse
Pe lui: camicia
Per lei: camicetta.

The first shirt option is formal, the second is casual. ( From Gap)
( Fa Gap)

Solid colours.
Tinta unita.
Navy blue and utility/greenish shirt

Thin vertical stripes - elongate the figure.
Righe sottili e verticali -slanciano la figura.

Tiny checks -choose small prints to...elongate!

Go beyond the classic black and white shirt. Try dark and light sheds
Vai oltre la classico camicia bianca o nera. Prova sfumature pi' chiare o scure.

Choose a simple but femminine blouse with details on it - collars, ruffles- and in a soft shade.
A blouse can be easily layered with a cardigan. Ton sur ton or in a draker colour. So chic!
(From Zara)

High waisted jeans
I know it souond old fashioned but the high waist defines the waist line and the silhoutte above all if you have large hips and a triangle body shape.
(from Asos.com)
Jeans a vita alta.

For him-Straight cut

Dark blue

 Black and light blue

For her - flared jeans that elongate the leg and worn with comfy wedges.

These are just two basic garments that I covered but more are to come.

Vintage and Fashion in the City-Rione Monti-ROME.

A.I. Artisanal Intelligence, the semestral AltaModaRoma magazine is a real treasure chest. In fact, true to its title, it has a 45 pages feature on  independent designers/artisans/creative/artists shops/atelier in Rome. I focused in particular on some of them in the Monti area ( Rione Monti), in the heart of Rome, just off Via Cavour and the Colosseum.

I took a stroll of this  villlgy, friendly and hip area and browsed thorugh some amazing shops. They fall basicly in three broad categories: vintage shops, boutiques and designers shops/tailor's shops. This last kind of shop caught my attention.
I'm going to show you some pictures of just  the ones I found out ( LeNou, Kokoro, Abito- le Gallinelle) but I'm sure that there are some more in the area.

The amazing feature of this designers tailors shops is that they both sell and make their garments in the same space, SO it follows that at the back or the side of the place you see  a sewing machine and fabrics all around it. Then, the atmoshpere is really friendly and buzzing and in all of the three shop I walked in there were customers trying clothes on and arranging with the designers alterations and customisazions. That is so special and unique and the strong selling point of these shops. Last but not least, the prices. The pricing was quite convenient, given the fact that you REALLY get an hand made garment and a REAL, personalised customer service. In fact I saw prices of the same range of good quality clothes you can find in chain shops.i.e..€150 for a jacket, €80 for dresses and €60 for a shirt.

Have a look by yourself and tell me.

In ultima battuta, i prezzi.

LeNou:
Young, hip, basic and confortable designs.
(Check the t-shirts and the accessories out).

Style Tips: One blazer.Three outfits.

EN:
First things first: this post is NOT about me wearing an outfit. It is about how to style a blazer in three  ways and create three different outfits on a budget. I feel I have to say it because lately I've heard so many people complaining about fashion blogs where you can only see what the blogger is wearing. I kind of agree with these complaints, even if some outfits that you see there are really cool.

As you know I attended AltaModa Roma and as soon as the excitment about the invitation to the shows faded, I panicked about what to wear. So, after some counselling ( thanks Anna Saccone twitts!) and a fair amount of thought I made up my mind about getting a blazer that had some kind of fancy/shiny revers. I found a  navy blue Zara blazer (on sale!) with grey finishings on the revers and pockets and gold metal anchor buttons.

Total cost was €51.93:
 Zara blazer €39.99 (-42%), Zara Trafaluc t-shirt €6.99 (-64%), H&M brooch €4.95.
The other garments and accessories  were pre-owned!

The mood of the blazer is clearly navy so I decided to style it accordingly in three differents ways so that I would look slighly different on the three days I decided to attend the fashion shows.
(I wore Outfit 1 and 2 for real but outfit three I did'nt as I was exhausted the last day of the shows and staied at home).

P.S.Just realised that OUTFIT 3 wasn't saved by the blog editor!Sorry!!I'll post it very soon!

IT:

Zara blazer €39.99 (-42%), Zara Trafaluc t-shirt €6.99 (-64%), spilla H&M  €4.95.
Gli altri indumenti e accessori già li avevo.

OUTFIT 1: preppy-navy look
Blazer+navy blue striped cartoon Mighty Mouse t-shirt+dark blue jeans.
Shiny lace-ups+purple striped flower brooch+Popeye vintage pin.

Style tip: tone the blazer down with a t-shirt and jeans but play it up with accessories

OUTFIT 2: stripy-navy look
Blazer+ligh grey stripped shirt w/t white collar and cuffs+ black V-neck t-shirt w/t white&red stripes+black basic straight trousers.
Cesare Paciotti leather sneakers+Betty Boop vintage pin&withe&red striped small brooch.

Style tip: play with stripes and colours on the top but keep the boottom neutral to balance the look.

OUTFIT 3:
Blazer+sky blue striped shirt+ grey waistcoast+ grey striped D&G wool mix flared trousers.
Dark brown lace ups+balck sequined H&M flower brooch.

Style tip: match the garments colour details ( in this case the grey colour) and use vertical lines to elongate the figure.

Hope you liked the outfits and found the tips useful.
Spero che i completi vi piacciano e che  troviate i cosigli utili.
