Styling and shooting: New Vintage

Finally went back to styling after almost a three months stop. But it was worth the wait :-)

I've been waiting and looking, infact for am excellent project to come along. No more free test or uncertain submissions. I've done my share in the past and it's time to get to the next level.

I got it right this time with a commission shoot for a magazine by photographer Yuji Watanabe, who lives in Paris and was in London for a couple of weeks.

Some quick fact about this shoot:

-I used designer, boutiques and accessories for Brighton :-))

-Developed the concept of 'New Vintage' to highlight the nature of the Brighton creatives I used

- Shot in Rotherhite as I did back in November 2011

- Ended up with 75% Japanese creative team (photographer, MUA and Hair stylist) and I loved it!!

- It was a quick shoot :-) (only 5 hours for hair, make up and 7 outfits)

The following pic are the ones that I took backstage, so they are not as beautiful as the real ones but they give you a pretty good idea of the overall mood.

China Doll Boutique Summer Lookbook Styling

Yesterday I styled China Doll Boutique Sumer Lookbook :-) It was a styling marathon - more than 20 looks on the end and there was a last minute location change, from an open airi bluebell forest in Essex to The House Next Door five storey house in Shoreditch, as the weather was...well it's England you know?

I LOVED styling China Doll outifts again, after I did it for the first time back in November. The garments are femminine, fun and versatile and Nhuc, the Director, really gives me a lot of freedom when styling and accessorising :-) The team was great too. Fab photographer - Ailera Stone - who uses only natural light, great hair and make up - Leah Mabe - and models - Sophie, on her vere first shoot and Michela.

I didn't have my camera with me, and i wa super busy styling and steaming, so the pics that you see on this post are from the Istagram accounts of Ailera and Leah and Nhuc iPhone snaps :-)

Styling and shootin: Sussex shoot backstage pics

As I told you yesterday today I would shoot in the area :-) So happy about that and it gave me the opportunity to explore more of it as well. Here some backstage pics. Just two looks though, out of the five we shot as most of the time I was helping out with the reflector or getting things ready for the next look .

Come vi ho detto ieri oggi avrei scattato in zona :-) Contentissimo e cio' mi ha dato l'opportunita' di espolare un po' meglio la zona. Ecoo alcune foto di backstage. Solo tre look, dei cinque che abbiamos scattato poiche' la maggio rparte del tempo ho dato una mano con il 'reflector' (come si schiama in italiano?) oppure ero impeganto a preparare il look seguente.

Penelope is coming to town!

The time is (nearly) come! Penelope Pitstop, Wonder Woman and Eva Kant are coimg to life!!

Here just few snapshots that I took of the backstge mess during a test shoot/fitting for my upcoming styling project ;-) Can't show you the outfits yet...but soon my friends ;-)))

E' (quasi) arrivato il momento! Penelope Pitstop, Wonder Woman ed Eva Kant stanno per prendere vita!!

Alta Moda Roma: Dan backstage at Abed Mahfouz.

Just few lines and some pictures about the backstage of my first fashion show. As you know (http://dbstyle-thestylist.blogspot.com/2011/01/dan-goes-to-alta-moda-roma.html ) it was Haute Couture Abed Mahfouz S/S '11 fashion show that I attended thanks to the designer PR and Accademia del Lusso. The lovely Maria Cristina Rigano let me and my two styling friends ( Tiziana and Alessandra) peep backstage soon after the show.

Solo poche righe ed alcune foto del backstage della mia prima sfilata. Come sapete( http://dbstyle-thestylist.blogspot.com/2011/01/dan-goes-to-alta-moda-roma.html) è stata la sfilata di Alta Moda di Abed Mahfouz P/E '11 e vi ho partecipato grazie alla PR dello stlista e all'Accademia del Lusso. La deliziosa Maria Cristina Rigano ha permesso a me e alle mie due amiche di styling ( Tiziana e Alessandra) di ficcare il naso dietro le quinte appena finita la sfilata.
