Beat The Heat. Stylish Hats and Sunglasses For Her&Him.

In my last post, inspired my Roman holiday, I told you how I don't particularly like it when the temperature it's too hot and doing anything is really tiring. If dressing up to go out for an aperitive and then dinner comes naturally to most of us, it is possible, with some care, to look smart and stylish even when the sun is up high and you do have to run errands in town or simply be a diligent tourist seeing the sights. 

The way I kept cool and comfortable during the day was always wearing my River Island flat cap and my Prada sunglasses. This combo really worked and I was then able not only not to get a sunburn or a sun stroke but also to be out and about with the least discomfort. Nello scorso post, ispirato alle mue vacanze romane, vi ho raccontato di come non mi piaccia particolrmente quando la temperatura e' troppo alta e fare qualsiasi cosa diventa faticosissimo. Se vestirsi per bene per andare a prendere un aperitivo e poi a cena e' naturale per molti di noi, e' possibile, con un po' di accortezza, avere stile anche quando il sole e' alto e magari ci sono commissioni da fare in giro o semplicemente essere dei turisti diligenti e visitare cio' che c'e' da vedere.

Sono riuscito a rimanere al fresco e in relativo comfort durante il giorno, indossando sempre la mia scoppoletta River Island e gli occhiali da sole Prada. Questa combinazione ha funzionato alla grande e non solo non mi sono ustionato e non ho preso colpi di sole ma sono stato in giro con il minor disagio possibile. How NOT to Wear a Boring Festival Outfit. #RiverIsland Festival Fashion Junkie.

In the last few weeks we have been flooded with pictures of celebrities and bloggers outfits in Coachella and we've seen lots of the same.

The festival season has started, and I'm not talking only music here, and even REAL people now are conscious that if they are attending an open air event , they need functional and trendy clothes. Just the other day I had two regular customers asking me what to wear for a music festival they are going to in July in Portugal and said they'd check my blog for advice :-) 

Quick digression: the best part of my job is often talking to people/customers and develop a 'relationship' based on the shared passion for fashion and shopping.

So here my suggestions what to wear for your festival BUT with the added bonus that the following outfits work really well also for a week end away or just a day out.

Revenge Wears Prada. The Outfits!

I haven't written a bilingual post for A LOOONG time so here we go! I finished reading the book 'Revenge Wears Prada' few days ago and as I went through the last sentence I realised that for all the time I've been reading it I imagined it visually, especially when it came to what the characters were wearing. So, even if we'll have to wait for the movie adaptation of the book, here my take on the outfits :-)

I've created them almost 'by the book' with few adjustments on the way. Not going to give away the plot but I'll put each outfit in its context. Plus at the end of the post my review of the book.

Non ho scritto un post bilingue da TAANTO tempo quindi eccolo qui! Ho finito di leggere il libro 'Revenge Wear Prada' qualche giorno fa e appena letta l'ultima riga mi sono reso conto che per tutto il tempo non ho fatto altro che immaginarmi visivamente cio' che era stampato sulla pagina, in particolare quando si trattava di cio' che i protagonisti indossano. Anche se dobbiamo aspettare un po' per la realizzazione del film, mi sono cimentato nel creare gli outfit del libro :-)

Li ho messi insieme in maniera 'libresca', fedele al libro con qualche piccolo aggiustamento. Non vi racconto la trama ma vi metto ogni aoutfit nel suo contesto. La mia opinione sulo libro a fine post.

My review of the book.

Maybe it's because I was expecting more Miranda and more of her bitchiness, maybe because I was expecting a more fashion related events, maybe because I was expecting more behind the scene drama but I was quite disappointed and bored by the book. The most entertainment moments are the ones in which Emily is in it with her acute sense of business, fashion sense and sharp comments. The whole development of Andrea's life, the wedding, her married life and the baby are lame and flat and it is a big shame that Miranda doesn't have a bigger role in the development of the plot :-(( Let's hope that the film version is more glamorous, fashion driven, dramatic, full of Miranda and Emily than the book.

La mia opinione sul libro.

Forse perche' mi aspettavo piu' Miranda e piu' della sua acidita', forse perche' mi aspettavo piu' moda ed eventi legata ad essa, forse perche' mi aspettavo piu' dramma da 'dietro le quinte' ma sono stato abbastanza deluso ed annoiato dal libro. I moneti piu' interessanti sono quelli in cui c'e' Emily con il suo acuto senso degli affari, il suo gusto per la moda ed i commenti caustici. L'intero sviluppo della vita di Andrea, il matrimonio e la bambina sono noiosi e piatti ed e' un p[eccato che Miranda non abbia un ruolo maggiore nello sviluppo della trama :-(( Speriamo che il film sia piu' glamour, dettato dalla moda, drammatico e pieno di Miranda ed Emily.
