SS 15 Trend File. Back To The '70. Shop&Style It.

After last post about prints, patterns and colours of the '70 trend for the SS15 season, here's a quick and easy shopping and styling guide about it. In terms of shopping I've selected three high-street brands - ASOS, River island and H&M - so that you can either shop online or just pop instore and have a browse. Styling wise I have to say that the '70 is one of the easiest trends to style as the colour palette is quirky and fun and you are free to go over the top with it or keep it simple. my only advice is not to be afraid of colour and patterns and to try things on even if they look crazy on the hanger. The shapes, large and comfy,  are flattering on any bodyshape; the palazzo pants paired with wedges do elongate the figure and the culotte and swing dresses can be styled up or down according to your necessities. here's my picks. The items, from left to right are all ASOS, RI and H&M.

Dopo lo scorso post sulle stampe, le fantasie e i colori del trend anni '70 della prossima stagione SS15, ecco una semplice e veloce guida allo shopping e allo styling di questo trend. Per quanto riguarda lo shopping ho scelto tre brand high-street - ASOS, River Island e H&M - in modo che possiate fare shopping online o fare un salto in negozio per darci un'occhiata. Devo dire che ' lo styling di questo trend e semplicissimo poiche' la palette di colori e divertente e originale e siete libere sia di esagerare che di andarci leggere; il mio unico consiglio e' quello di non avere timore di provare colori e fantasie che sulla stampella sembrano da pazzi. Le silhouette infatti , larghe e comode, si addicono ad ogni conformazione fisica; i pantaloni a palazzo se abbinato con un  sandalo wedge allungano la figura e sia le culotte che gli abiti a linea ad A possono nascondono le imperfezioni e possono essere indossati per outfit casual o piu' formal a secondo delle vostre esigenze.Ecco le mie scelte. I capi, da sinistra a destra, sono di ASOS, RI e H&M.

Party Season&Party Looks - Christmas 2013 edition! For Him

La sequenza di pranzi, cene, feste di Natale con coleghi di lavoro, ufficio, palestra, scuola, parenti e chi piu' ne ha piu' ne metta e' ufficilamente cominciata e anche se non si va ad eventi stra- mondani ci si pone comunque, sempre il solito dilemma: ''Cosa mi metto?'' Ormai anche il guardaroba maschile offre decine e decine di capi ed abbinamenti per ogni gusto ed ogni occasione, ma durante la 'party season' si vuole dare quel tocco in piu', che non guasta mai, tipico periodo festivo. Ecco di seguito alcuni spunti, anche di styling per voi uomini, o il vostro lui.

Non avete molto tempo e/o denaro da investire nel vostro outfit festivo? Concentratevi su uno o due capi che saranno il focus del vostro look; in questo caso vi consiglio il blazer ed il bow tie. Per il blazer abbiamo la possibilita' di andare sul classico o osare con colori accesi ed un tocco di velluto. La scleta sta, a voi ed al vostro gusto. Eccovene alcuni.

Per quanto riguarda il bow tie, usatelo come accessorio con cui sbizzarrirvi, sia nella scleta del colore, che della stampa o del tessuto.

E per il resto dell'outfit? - vi chiederete. La strategia migliore e' quella di non appesantire e pasticciare il look con pantaloni e scarpe vistose, visto che l'accoppiata blazer+bow tie, vi faranno fare la bella fugura cche vi aspettate. Un pariodi classici pantaloni neri, una camicia bianca e delle stringate o brogues nere andranno piu' che bene.

Halloween DIY _ Halloween Fai-Da-Te

Scusatemi se  posto idee per Halloween a getto continuo. Questo e' il terzo ed ultimo post...prometto! Non ho in programma di andare a nessuna festa questa week end ma in passato, durante i miei vent'anni, Halloween era una delle notti piu' divertenti e fantasmagoriche in discoteca e sopratutto a Muccassassina (a Roma). Ho quindi ricordi molto molto piacevoli legati a questa occorenza :-)  Dopo il costume di Anna Wintour e Karl Lagarfeld eccovi un modo veloce, pratico ed economico per creare un outfit di Halloween. Non vi fate ingannare dall'immagine di apertura...non bisogna cucire nulla! Basta aprire l'armadio e tirare fuori dei capi ad hoc. E' quello che ho fatto io creando un paio di look per lei e un paio per lui. ( Trucco e parrucco non incluso).

Apologies if I keep posting about Halloween. This is the third and last post...I swear! I'm not going to any fancy dress party this week end but in the past, during my twenties, Halloween was one of the most hilarious and great nights in clubs, especially in Mucassassina (in Rome). Therefore I have really but really pleasurable memories attached to it :-) After the Anna Wintour and Karl Lagarfeld fancy dress ideas, here a quick, easy and cheap way to create an Halloween outfit. Don't be fooled by the opening picture...there's no sewing involved! Just open your wardrobe and pick some ad hoc items. That's what I did and created a couple of looks for her and for him. ( Hair and make up not included).

- Mini dress stretch con pannello viola maculato. Anche un semplice LBD va bene. Aggiungete dei leggings per stare piu' comode e poi acquistate un cappello da strega o fatevi una pettinatura da pazza!

- A stretch mini dress with a spotted purple panel. Even a simple LBD it's good. Wear some leggings to feel more comfortable and then buy a witch hat or have a crazy-woman hairdo

- Ho aggiunto un semplice coprospalle con manche a...pipistrello!! 

- I simply added a jacket with...bat sleeves!!

- Camicia rossa, gilet nero e bow tie. Il gioco e' fatto! Aggiungete pantalone nero e scarpe stringate di vernice e c'e' solo da comprare un mantello.

-A red shirt, a black waitcoat and a bow tie. Easy, peasy! Add black trousers and patent shoes and buy a black cloack.

- Camicia rossa e giacca nera invece della camicia nera e la giacca rossa.

- Red shirt and black jacket instead of black shirt and red jacket.

Una volta deciso cosa indossare in spiaggia come costume, ci resta il compito di scegliere - per lo meno a noi fashionisti che vogliamo avere stile anche al mare - come accessoriare il tutto. Styling: My outfit - Capodanno 2011 - New Year's Eve 2011

Happy and stylish 2012!

I don't usually post pictures of my outfits but as New Year's Eve it's a special occasion and everybody, even the less fashion conscious, make an effort with their outfits, here it is what I wore last night.

I had aperitivo in a pub in town then got back home for a yummy dinner, out agin for midnight toast at the local pub, back home for puddings ( two delicious one!) and then clubbing for a couple of hours - by the time me and my b/f got out clubbing it was already 3am!

Di solito non posto foto dei miei outfit ma poiche' Capodanno e' un'occasione speciale e tutti, anche chi e' meno preso dalla moda, fa uno sforzo per apparire al meglio, ecco cosa ho indossato l'altra sera.

Aperitivo in un pub al centro, abito a Brighton poi a casa per una cenetta deliziosa, di nuovo fuori al pub dietro casa per brindisi di mezzanotte, a casa per i dessert ( ben due!) e poi in discoteca per un paio d'ore - erano gia' le 3 di amttina quando siamo andati a balllare io ed il mio b/f.

I showed you the single garments in my last 2011 post and to be honest, I wasn't sure that the shiny Jacket would work but it did.

Plus I wore my favourite parfume - BANG by Marc Jacobs- and that was a huge success with people that kept asking me what was it :-))

Vi ho mostrato i singoli capi nell'ultimo post del 2011 e ad essere onesto, non ero sicuro che il giacchetto avrebbe funzionato ma invece e' stato cosi'.
In piu' ho indossato il mio profumo preferito - BANG by Marc Jacobs - ed e' stato un successone visto che in molti mi hanno chiesto che cos'era :-))

The were quite a few people out in the streets and even in the club wearing a bow tie but I believe that with such a traditional and classic item the trick is to style it  in a personalised way, twisting the usual look a bit.

I didn't get a white shirt for that reason and added the V-neck top for texture and the shiny jacket to hold the outfit together.

What did you wear for the beginning of the New Year?

C'erano alcune persone in giro per strada e perfino in discoteca col cravattino ma credo che con un elemnto cosi' tradizionale e classico il trucco stia nell'abbinarlo in maniera personalizzata, deviando un po' dal look convenzionale. Non ho messo la camicia bianca per questa ragione ed ho aggiunto la maglia a V per da re movimento ed il giacchetto nero lucido per tenere insieme tutto l'outfit.
Cosa avete indossato voi per il nuovo anno?

Styling: party outfit - Capodanno 2011 - New Year's Eve 2011

Just got back from a quick shopping trip to get some garments for my New Year's Eve party outfit.

I'll be haveing dinner at home with my b/f and family and then at some point go out maybe clubbing or probably just for drinks.

This outfits works for any party event, not only NY.

The loose idea behind it it's the aquatic/sea theme seen on Chanel and Versace SS12 shows.

I got a simple very pale sky-blue shirt and a V-neck jersey see through top as a base and accessorised it with a metallic bow tie and shiny black jacket that I'm using instead of a suit jacket or waistcoat and that will match my patent shoes and black slim trousers.

Sono appena tornato da un giro veloce di shopping per accaparrarmi alcuni capi per l'outfit per il party di Capodanno. Cenero' a casa col mio b/f e la famiglia e poi ad un certo punto usciremo forse per andare a ballare o probabilmente 'solo' per dei drink.

Questo outfit funziona per ogni occasione di festa, non solo Capodanno.

Il concetto che ho seguito, blandamente, e' il tema acquatico/marittimo visto nelle passerelle SS12 di Chanel e Versace.

Ho acquistato una camicia azzurra molto chiara e una maglia con lo scollo a V di jersey in parte vedo-non-vedo come base che ho accessoriato con una farfallino di color metallico e un giacchetto nero leggero lucido che uso invece della tipica giacca da completo o gilet e che si abbina alle scarpe di vernice e ai pantaloni slim neri.

5 great items for rainy days.

The weather has turned really windy, cold and rainy in the last couple of days overe here in Brighton, so I got insipred to pick 5 items for these rainy and dreadful days.
