Mr Quiffy. House of Holland Summer Capsule Collection

In the midst of this British heatwave don't get confused if you see an ice cram van selling clothes!
It is House of Holland Mr Quiffy van touring the country with his summer capsule collection. Henry Holland's signature quiff is the leitmotif of T-shirt and accessories that paired with an eclectic mix-and-match of vivid stripey and polka dot garments make a lively, joyous and affordable collection.

Nel mezzo dell'ondata di caldo che ha invaso anche il Regno Unito non vi confondete se per le strade di Londra vedete un camioncino dei gelati che vende abiti!
Si tratta del camioncino Mr Quiffy della House of Holland che sta facendo il tour del paese con la capsule collection estiva. Il ciuffo dello stilista Henry Holland e' il leimotic di T-shirt e accessori che assieme all'eclettico mix-and-match di indumenti a righe vivaci  e pois danno vita ad una collezione gioiosa, divertente edai prezzi abbordabili.

To an Italian eye, ear and mindset an ice cream van doesn't ring any bell...that is because ice cream are widely available in so many places and shops that we don't really need a van to drive around our streets. To a British eye, ear and mindset, though and ice cream van ( and its chimes) is deeply connected to childhood and summer holidays memories. Hence the genius of Henry Holland in using this iconic British 'piece' in reinventing it and making it contemporary and fun.

Agli occhi, orecchie e mentalita' italiana il camioncino dei gelati non significa granche'...per il semplice fatto che il gelato e' accessibili in un sacco di posti e non si ha la necessita' di un camioncino che giri per le strade. Agli occhi, orecchie e mentalita' britannica invece lo stesso camioncino (e la sua musichetta) e' profondamente connesso a ricordi d'infanzia e memorie delle vacanze estive. Da qui il genio di Henry Holland nell'usare questo 'pezzo' iconico brittanico e reinventarlo rendendolo contemporaneo e divertente.

I personally love the Mr Quiffy T-shirt, the stripes-cum-dots one and the hat on the left. Hope I can catch the van later in September during LFW.

Eccovi un collage con le T-shirt, la gonna e gli short che possono essere combinati fra loro ed un altro collage con gli accessori in stile hip-hop gangster in salsa manga.
Personalmente adoro la T-shirt mr Quiffy e quella a righe-pois ed il cappello a sinistra. Spero di riuscire a intercettare il camioncino a settembre durante la LFW.

Christmas Gift Beauty Guide

Non sto cercando di diventare un beauty blogger, tranquilli! Ultimamente mi sono avventurato tra i 'beauty counter'  per avere delle idee e possibilmente acquistare acquistare alcuni set di Natale da regalare senza spendere un capitale. La mia attenzione e' caduta su smalti e lip-gloss: prodotti poco impegnativi se non si conoscono al 100% i gusti della persona a cui si regalano. Inoltre sono stato anche attratto dal packaging, come nel caso del set House of Holland :-)

Mi sono imbattuto anche in uno smalto 'magnetico' (!); sicuramente voi saprete meglio di me di cosa si tratta - io ho docuto guardare un breve video per capire come funziona. Mi piace!!

Nella mia selezione ho anche incluso un set di smalti dai colori 'let's party' di Fearne Cotton - e' una presentatrice famosa della BBC - ed una palette di ombretti dal packaging vintage. LOL! I matitoni lipstick e i lip crayon sono la versione 'low cost' dei chubby stick della Clinique ( ho fatto i compiti qui eh!) che purtroppo non ho acquistato in tempo online - erano in offerta 6 matitoni a £30! Commenti e critiche ben accetti visto che il settore beauty non e' il mio :-)

I'm not trying to become a beauty fashion blogger, don't worry! Lately I've been exploring beauty counters to have an idea and hopefully buy some Christmas set presents and not spend a fortune. My attention was caught by nail polish and lip gloss: 'easy' products if you don't know the taste of who's receiving the gift. Plus the packaging really influenced my choice, for example the House of Holland set :-) I also 'dicovered' the existence of a 'magnetic' nail poish (!); I'm sure you already know about it - I had to watch a video tutorial to understand how it works. I like it!!

In my selection I included a nail polish set with party colors by Fearne Cotton - a famous BBC presenter - and an eyeshadow palette with a cool vintage packaging. LOL! The chubby lipstick and the lip crayons are a 'low cost' version of the Clinique chubby sticks ( I did my homework here!) that unfortunately I didn't buy online when they were on offer - 6 of them for £30! Comments and criticism welcome as the beauty area is not mine :-)
